A comprehensive elementary school curriculum
Van Gogh Sitses Foundation and Erfgoed Brabant have developed a fun teaching folder for elementary school: Brabants Kwartiertje with Van Gogh. This folder contains teaching assignments for lower, middle and upper grades which are in line with the Cultuur Loper indicators. Brabants Kwartiertje with Van Gogh is about his life, family and his first steps on the artist's path in Brabant. The assignments are short and powerful and can be carried out separately or as a project day or project week.

Museum Treasures
The Van Gogh heritage sites and Het Noordbrabants Museum have fun programs for younger visitors. The assignments from the teaching package form a good preparation for a visit to one of the exhibitions. Through Erfgoed Brabant, schools can participate in the successful project: Museumschatjes.
Within the educational project Museum Treasures, elementary school students from grade 5 to 8 go to a museum in a classroom setting. Using the teaching materials, the museum visit is prepared at school. What is heritage? Why is it important to preserve things? Then the students explore the value of museum treasures.

Vincents Lichtlab

The New Vincent
In 2013, Vincents Tekenlokaal took the initiative to develop a talent program especially for young people between the ages of 10 and 14, because there was little for them in the area of drawing. The Tilburg program has since been rolled out to other Van Gogh locations in Brabant: the Vincent van GoghHuis in Zundert and the Van Gogh Village Museum in Nuenen. In 2024, Etten-Leur may also join.
Participants will follow an intensive program of drawing lessons, master classes and excursions. The goal of the program is to experiment with all kinds of materials and techniques together with like-minded people.

Nuenen
Come to Nuenen with your class for free (even without Museum Treasures!) and walk in the footsteps of Vincent van Gogh. Van Gogh Village Nuenen offers various educational programs with free guidance for primary and secondary schools. Children also listen to conversations between Vincent and his brother Theo in the special youth audio tour. This way they learn about Van Gogh's life in Nuenen in an accessible way!

Etten-Leur
The Van Gogh Church Etten-Leur has a great collaboration with KOEPEL, the Marketplace for Culture and Nature Education. For example, for groups 6, 7 and 8 of primary education the project 'Understand Vincent' is offered. The students discover that Vincent's relatively short stay in Etten had an important influence on his subsequent life. They also visit the church.

Den Bosch
At Het Noordbrabants Museum , children and youngsters can discover more about the work and life of Vincent van Gogh. The new Van Gogh Room features original paintings and tells the story of Vincent's Brabant period.
Van Gogh coloring and drawing book
The Vincent van Gogh coloring and drawing book is full of hand-drawn prints in which Saskia van Oversteeg has drawn inspiration from Vincent van Gogh's work, life and letters. Especially from his Brabant period, details from still lifes, buildings, trees, flowers and persons are drawn. She drew whole prints, but left out parts of some prints, put dotted lines or numbers. By drawing your own lines from dot to dot and from number to number, you draw the print yourself and then color it. This is how you make your own Van Gogh! Fun for yourself but also to do with your child(ren)! The book is available in the shops at our heritage sites.
