1853-1869: Zundertenaren over Van Gogh

Zundert: On the corner of the market, opposite Hotel de Roskam, the village school used to stand. Vincent was taught there from January to October 1861. However, he was taken out of school because his dealings with the village children apparently made him too rough. When Benno Stokvis inquired in the village in 1926, the villagers mainly remembered him as a quiet and ordinary boy.
