Eindhoven: Vincent made regular trips to Eindhoven. He taught a few amateur artists at the home of Antoon Hermans, bought his paint at Baijens, his printing ink at the Gestel & Zn firm, and visited his friend Anton Kerssemakers who lived diagonally across the street from the then station. Along the way he found motifs for his drawings and paintings: the watermill at Opwetten, the church of Tongelre, the sheds of the old station, the Catharinakerk and the telegraph office. With Kerssemakers - who published his memories of Vincent in 1912 - he visited museums in Antwerp and Amsterdam.
