Nuenen: This windmill was built during the period in which Vincent lived and worked in Nuenen. Two months before he arrived in Nuenen, during the construction of the mill, the hull had collapsed and someone had died. In August 1884, this so-called mountain mill was put into operation. In 1887 the mill was also equipped as an oil mill so that more than just grain could be ground. Vincent drew the windmill among the cornfields as many as seven times.
