Lieshout: During his stay in Nuenen, Vincent regularly went out and about, including watching a large heath fire with a young boy from Nuenen and drawing and painting in the surrounding area with his Eindhoven friend Antoon Kerssemakers. Vincent also immortalized De Vogelenzang, an old mill from 1819. We recognize the mill on two drawings. In 1988, the same mill was also discovered on the X-ray of a flower still life. Vincent painted a vase of daffodils over the mill.
