Within Van Gogh Sites Foundation, about five local heritage organizations work together across Brabant. With the help of a large group of volunteers, they are committed to maintaining the heritage and making it accessible to those interested. Many of these volunteers are passionate Van Gogh experts who bring Vincent's Brabant period to life with their stories.
Brabant Partners executes the marketing and communication policy of the Van Gogh Sites Foundation. For international profiling of the heritage, NBTC Holland works closely together. Van Gogh Sites Foundation is also initiator and part of the European network of heritage sites Van Gogh Europe and partner in Van Gogh Nationaal Park.
Vincent van Gogh was born in Zundert on March 30, 1853. In addition to the permanent exhibition, Van Gogh Zundert also displays contemporary work inspired by Van Gogh.
Vincent lived in Tilburg for about a year and a half where he studied drawing at the HBS. With the New Vincent, Vincents Tekenlokaal in Tilburg's Spoorzone provides a talent development program for elementary school students.
It was in Etten that Vincent van Gogh first registered as a painter in 1881. Here he also had his first real drawing studio. In Etten-Leur you will discover the Van Gogh Experience and Museum Sint Paulushofje.
Het Noordbrabants Museum has a collection of original Van Gogh works and organizes exhibitions on the painter's work and life, as well as directing the expert team to improve the content of the presentation of Vincent's life story.
In Nuenen Van Gogh painted his first masterpiece, The Potato Eaters. Van Gogh Village Nuenen has the most extensive Van Gogh heritage with the exhibition in the Van Gogh Village Museum and 24 monuments.
There are other municipalities in North Brabant with Van Gogh Monuments. Some of them are committed to making local Van Gogh heritage accessible to visitors. Although they are not yet partners in the Van Gogh Sites Foundation, they are already working together.
At Van Gogh Nationaal Park, nature meets culture, exactly as Vincent experienced it. The Van Gogh Sites Foundation is working together to make Van Gogh's heritage visible and experienceable in the landscape of Brabant.
